"Well if we have to then it won't make a difference if I object or not, will it?" said Hector, handing what was left of his cigarette to Frances, who quickly finished it, dropped it on the floor and stamped it out. "No objections from me."

Midona sighed, "Thank you."

It was a long way to the gateway to the unseelie's world, and Seth was heavy. Midona decided to distract herself by talking nonsense with the others.

"Hector, if you had to, would you rather marry or kill Anna? If you had to do one of the two?"

They were in a forest, and Midona didn't notice as the heel of her shoe caught on the root of a tree. She really didn't like wearing shoes, but dante had long since put in a 'no shoes, no service' policy. Many inored it, but Midona liked to stay on the owner's good side. In a place like this, a girl needed powerful friends.

Midona looked up, and saw the skull carved into the tree above her. They had arrived at the gate to a world comprised of the feelings mortals are so fond of hiding, even from themselves.

Anna grinned at the question. She didn't mind.

Then she saw the gate. If she was honest, "saw" might have been an understatement. The tree seemed hazy to her. But she could see the skull carved into it. As if it were as clear as day. She shivered.

"Are you guys coming? I mean, the unseelie are rather...well, you remember Orin's scars, don't you?" Midona supressed a shudder as the portal opened around them, "Too late."

Anna gasped as the portal opened. She didn't know why, but she felt cold. Frightened and cold. And she knew she hadn't felt that way since she was a little girl. And then, as quickly as it had come, it left.
