Hugo stood up to his full height, his 6"1' stature much taller than Frances, the light catching his muscular frame.

He grinned at the look on Frances' face. "See something you like?"

Gabriel walked through the streets of London, long black coat sweeping the ground. It was only by chance he found himself here in his search for Blake and the Gancanagh, but he figured that, what the hell, if he never asked he'd never know.

And, as it happened, a small mortal girl -Elizabeth, she called herself- had smiled and offered to take him to them.

Because Gabriel was not dead at all. For in truth, he and Midona had planned it from the start- Maya's little gancanagh had grown into such a smart girl.

He had merely needed a way out, hadn't meant for it to come this far, but, alas, it had.

I let him think I was dead,Gabriel thinks suddenly, I let Blake think she had killed me, after everything else that has happened.

Gabriel closes his eyes against the unprecedented wave of guilt, prays to whatever god is still on his side that Blake can forgive him this, and hopes for the best.

((P-P-P-Plot twist! =D What, you thought I would kill off my favorite character so easily?))

The thick, acrid-yet-somehow-sweet smoke that filled the room became too much for Terry (his lungs still weren't the greatest), so he decided to nip out for some fresh air. He bent down and told Blake of his plan, assuring the young man he'd be fine on his own for a few moments, and stepped outside, closing the door behind him and chuckling at Hugo's nature.

He walked slowly back up the alley and through the streets, taking deep breaths. He leant against a wall for a moment and closed his eyes. When he opened them and glanced up the road, he saw a face he believed to have been long gone.

Gabriel smiled, despite that their last meeting had been far from pleasant.

"Terry? Wow. I hadn't expected you lot to be this easy to find. Is Midona around?"

Elizabeth blinked wide blue eyes, looking from one to the other, "Do you know him, mister?"

"Only by association." Gabriel laughed, as the child ducked behind him, clearly a little anxious around strangers.

Terry's eyes narrowed. "Yes, she is." And then his whole posture seemed to slump in defeat. "But she's probably not the reason you're here. You'll be wanting him back, won't you? I should have know. Nothing is ever easy for me."
