Blake sighed, "Whtever. He wants to act all pissy, he can. That's his deal."

Anna glanced over her shoulder at Blake. "Oh, like yez don't? I think tha' poor man's entiled to be "pissy" if 'e wants. Lord knows 'e's got enough reasons." Anna's tone was sharp.

"I know that," Blake snapped, "What meant was that I just...I'm done chasing after people like that. I mean, look where it's left me. No offense to you guyss, but this isn't exactly the life I'd had planned, y'know? Love kind of screwed me over."

And Blake had gone back through the portal before Anna could get a word in.

Midona just sighed, "Am I the only one who cares in the slightest that we're screwing up the timestream every moment we stand around here? Anyone...? Looks like I am. Oh well."

Anna stormed through after Blake. "And love didn't screw 'im over? 'E lost 'is everythin', Blake. An' now tha' 'e's finally found someone else to make 'im tha' little bit 'appier, the world makes it too bloody difficult for 'im. Excuse 'im fer wantin' to show a bit of affection to yez. I think 'e's tired of wonderin' and guessin' if every little thing is too much fer yez."

Midona shot Anna a 'let me deal with this' glance.

"Look, Blake...I totally know why you're acting like this, and don't give me any of that 'it's cutesy and embarrassing' or 'I'm still f*cked up from Vetis and that lot' bullsh*t, because we both know damn well neither of those are true. But here's the thing- whatever you and Gabe had -and gods only know I ain't getting mixed up in the specifics of that train wreck of a relationship- is over, okay? I'm not gonna sugar coat it. You watched him die. There's no going back from that. So honestly, you have two choices- become a guilt-ridden ball of angst and spend the rest of your life pining away like Miss F*cking Havisham, or you can make the best of what you have left. I know which one I'd pick."

Neither spoke for a while, until Midona broke the silence with "So go after him, you snarky, pretentious, tsundere little ball of sh*t!"
