"Yes... but it shouldn't affect you, Midona. You will live a long time. So will he," Lorelei motioned at Seth, "if that's any consolation. And he will be happy."

"He will live a long life? Even with me being what I am?"

Seth sighed, "We've been over this before, Mi. I don't care if I have to never leave your side. I wouldn't want to."

"Oh..." Midona had never had anyone say that to her before, all the others she had loved, even Tsu, had admitted they would probably be better off if she had never met them.

The fact that Seth would say otherwise, even afer she had all but attempted to give him to Gabriel's court, was a little overwhelming.

The other part of Lorelei's prophecy made itself known to her, and she sighed. "I won't have a long life, though." she muttered, fully aware of the disease/curse that was slowly killing her even now, sped up by her closeness to the poisonous iron.

As if to prove her point, Midona passed out into Seth's arms.

"Christ! Give her here! Quick!" Lorelei whipped Midona up into her arms, and had her laid out on a small bed in the corner of the room. She rushed out to get cold towels.

Deillion scared of the shouting and commotion, started crying.

Seth smiled sadly, stroking Midona's bangs out of her eyes. Even now, her lips held their ever-present teasing smirk.

And Seth realized that he wouldn't care for her nearly as much otherwise.

Lorelei rushed back into the room, arms laden with things. She nudged Seth out of the way, and set about trying to wake Midona up, all the while handing him things like wet cloths and telling him what to do with them.

Amidst all of the ruckus, Deillion cried, frightened.
