Deidara grinned, and made a dash in the direction of the cabinet.

Balke sighed, "Well, I'll be going now, I know what Midona's friends are like when they're drunk, and trust me, it's just pathetic. No offense, Dei, of course."

"None taken."

Blake stepped outside the door, and shivered. It was 4 AM, give or take, and it was cold.

Terry stood up, and followed Blake to the door.

"Where are you going?" He was not pushy, but curious, and worried - Victorian London was not a nice place in the day, and a beautiful boy like Blake would be a popular target for all sorts.

"I don't know, really." Blake sighed, "I just...have to get out of the apartment for a bit. I need air, space, something. Okay?"

He saw the worry in Terry's eyes, "Look, I'll be fine. Really."

Besides, I've been in worse places than this.

Terry sighed.

"Alright. Just... don't stray too far. Some of the people here are worse than those in the court."

Terry turned and began to walk back inside.

"Stay safe," he whispered.

"Believe me, Terry, they aren't worse than those of Gabriel's court." Blake muttered to himself. He had seen the mortals left after Vetis' 'parties', had seen it in Deidara's eyes, had heard it in the way Aine spoke of her brother. Had seen it in his own reflection. They are the embodiment of all we try to hide, even from ourselves. What else could they do?

Not for the first time in his life, Blake silently cured the world he had been born into. Whatever Midona said, demons had it much easier.

Lost in thought, Blake had already forgotten how far he had walked, or in what direction. RIght now, he was walking past a low fence. He closed his hand over one of the sharp metal barbs, drawing blood, the pain making him focus on here, now; not the past that he would never be able to change.

I can't change it, but I can learn from it. Never again.

Clenching his fist so the blood wouldn't drip, Blake looked around for a sign of some kind. There wasn't one.

"All the streets around here look the same...there isn't even anyone I can ask for directions...sh*t."

For the first time since he had left the unseelie's realm, Blake was truly scared.

~back in Terry's apartment~

"I hope he's okay out there." Midona said, for the umpteenth time.

"He's fiiiine, Mi." grinned a rather drunk Deidara, "Blake is a big boy now, so relax, 'kay?"

Midona sighed, "I guess you're right, Dei. But you've had enough alchohol for now, alright?"

Deidara pouted, "meanie."
