"Lord, I shall." She sat in the armchair beside Summer.

"Here." She took a small photograph out of her robe pocket. It showed two teenagers, a boy and a girl, both with short brown hair and bright blue eyes, both laughing, the boy with his arm slung in a carefree manner around the girl's shoulders, a wide arc of a flame flickering in the background, no doubt from one of the many dragons that looped behind them.

"That's Tyrone, there on the left, and me." She motioned at the picture, smiling sadly. "I remember what we were thinking. That Tad was looking so daft when he took the photo. And Mam was gonna play Hell if we got muddy. That dragon in the background: that's the one that..." She took a deep breath. "This was taken last year, the day before the accident."

"If I try to hear him, there's just silence. No thought. It's like he's not even dreaming. When he was asleep, if I listened I'd hear his dreams. But not anymore. There's just... nothing."

Summer frowned. "You and Lupus will really get in... except your Brother still has a chance..." She whispered opening her book, trying to lose herself again.

Tullia nodded and swallowed heavily, blinking back tears she didn't know had formed.

"Lord, what am I doing? Should be happy, so I should. And to be sure, this isn't a time for sad memories."

"It'll get better..." Summer sighed not really paying attention. She never did when she got into a book.

Tullia grinned again, this time meaning it, as she looked at Summer and her book. She was engrossed.

"Good book?"
